Matthew Tkachuk is an American professional ice hockey winger currently playing for the Florida Panthers in the NHL.

He was drafted 6th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Tkachuk is known for his high hockey IQ, playmaking ability, and physical style of play.

Early Life and Junior Career

Matthew Tkachuk was born on December 11, 1997, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He played for the U.S. National Development Team before joining the London Knights of the OHL.

In the 2015-16 season, Tkachuk helped the Knights win the Memorial Cup, recording 107 points in 57 regular-season games.

NHL Career

Tkachuk debuted for the Calgary Flames in the 2016-17 season, recording 48 points in 76 games.

In 2021-22, he had a career-high 104 points and was named to the NHL First All-Star Team.

He was traded to the Florida Panthers in July 2022 and signed an eight-year contract extension.

International Play

Tkachuk represented the United States at the 2015 IIHF World U18 Championship, winning gold.

He also played in the 2016 World Junior Championship, earning a bronze medal.
